XLPE cable systems
joints and terminations
Elmeridge Cable Services provides a complete range of high voltage cable straight joints and cable terminations for XLPE cable systems for 33kV, 66kV and 132kV cable. All accessories are type tested in accordance with the requirements of IEC60840.
The highly successful Vulcanised In Situ (VIS) XLPE straight joint is ideal for 132kV XLPE cable systems where space is a premium especially in cities or tunnels.
Where there is additional space or a large transition between XLPE cables of dissimilar conductor size the premoulded XLPE cable straight joints can be used.
Both types of joint can be incorporated into high voltage cable systems employing a specially bonded cable sheath earthing scheme. If required by the customer, ecs engineers can design, install and commission a fully engineered bonding scheme in accordance with the requirements of Engineering Recommendation C55/4.
XLPE cable terminations for outdoor air insulated substations with both composite and porcelain insulators are provided for normal or heavy pollution environments.
GIS switchgear terminations to IEC60859 or IEC62271 with plug-in type cable connections are supplied. If required the epoxy resin bushing can be supplied separately in advance to the switchgear manufacturer to facilitate factory testing of the switchgear prior to installation of the cable termination on site.
A range of ancillary equipment can be provided to complete the high voltage cable system including:
A team of qualified high voltage cable jointers are available to assemble the complete range of XLPE cable joints and terminations.
